BEGINNER LEVEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 4.NC<\/strong>\u2013 He just started playing tennis.<\/li>\n
  • 4.6<\/strong>\u2013 He has limited experience and is still working mostly on putting the ball into play.<\/li>\n
  • 4.5<\/strong>\u2013 Requires field experience. He has obvious weaknesses in fundamentals but is familiar with the basic positions for singles and doubles play.<\/li>\n
  • 4.4<\/strong>\u2013 He is learning to judge where the ball is going even if the pitch coverage is weak. He can sustain short rallies at a slow pace with other players of the same level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    INTERMEDIATE LEVEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • 4.3<\/strong>\u2013 Fairly smooth when hitting medium paced balls, but not comfortable with all shots and lacking in the execution phase when trying to control the direction, depth or power of the shot. The most common doubles formations are one-up and one-back.<\/li>\n
    • 4.2<\/strong>\u2013 Improved base hitting consistency with good directional control at a moderate pace, but still lacks depth and variety. He is starting to show more aggressive net play, has improved his court coverage and is developing team play in Doubles.<\/li>\n
    • 4.1<\/strong>\u2013 Plays consistently and is able to control the direction of the ball and its depth on both sides (forehand and backhand) on moderate speed rallies. He is able to play lobs, approach shots and volleys with some success. He occasionally makes mistakes in serving. Exchanges can be lost due to haste. He is able to play as a team player in Doubles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      ADVANCED LEVEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • 3.5<\/strong>\u2013 Begin to master the use of power and rotations and begin to manage the pace with good footwork. He can control the depth of his shots and is starting to vary the game plan according to the characteristics of the opponent. She can hit first serves with power and accuracy and land second serve. Tends to overdo or make mistakes on difficult shots. He plays aggressively at the net in Doubles.<\/li>\n
      • 3.4<\/strong>\u2013 Play early and often close points with a winning shot. He\u2019s definitely regular from the baseline which he can build the game on. When he doesn\u2019t make a winner, he forces the opponent to make a mistake. He is able to play drop shots, volleys, lobs, half volleys and smashes effectively. He plays second serve with good depth and rotation.<\/li>\n
      • 3.3<\/strong>\u2013 Has developed power and\/or regularity as a primary weapon. Can vary strategies and styles of play as needed and can play winners in a stressful situation.<\/li>\n

        PROFESSIONAL LEVEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • 2.8 up to 2.5<\/strong>\u2013 Semi-professional player, achieved a national level ranking.<\/li>\n
